Well someone ticked off Mother Nature. More snow for the Northwoods. But on a positive note, if you want to ice fish, there is 29" of ice on Lake Minocqua.
Speaking of fish, it is FISH FRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRIDAY.
Today we dine on a dandy recipe from Bev Carter of Mosinee, WI. Bev said that when they come up to the cabin this is the only recipe they use. Today it's Bev's Bluegills with a Crunch.
The Parts: 1lb Bluegill filets 1/2 cup condensed cream of onion soup.
1 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1-1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 cup coarsely crushed sour cream and onion potato chips
Pepper to taste
Makin' it: Rinse filets and pat dry with paper towels.
Combine soup and milk in a shallow bowl.
Dip filets into the mixture and place in a baking dish coated with cooking spray.
Sprinkle with pepper and salt if needed.
Combine butter and lemon juice; drizzle over filets.
Top filets with potato chips.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bake, uncovered, for 17-20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
Wow Bev it does sound terrific! Your fish fry is on the way.
