I am in a big rush today to get things done. We have to get out of town by 2:30 to get to Hancock Michigan for the Pines football game tonight.
The thing most important to get done is let you know that it is FISH FRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRIDAY! And make sure that you have your latest fish fry recipe.
This week we have a recipe sent in from Levi Wagener. Levi fishes with his grandpa in Three Lakes in the summer and enjoys the way grandpas fish.
This week we dine on...
Grandpa Jim's Fish
2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
8 Walleye of your favorite fish fillets
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons paprika
1 egg, beaten
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.
Rinse fish, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper.
Combine flour, garlic powder, paprika. Stir egg into dry ingredients.
Gradually mix in beer until a thin batter is formed. You should be able to see the fish through the batter after it has been dipped. Dip fish fillets into the batter, then drop one at a time into hot oil.
Fry fish, turning once, until both sides are golden brown.
Drain on paper towels, and serve warm.
PERFECTION. Fish is great but always greater with beer.
Now don't forget, if you have a recipe that everyone should try get it to me. All recipes can be sent by e-mails, letter, or dropped off her at the studios in Eagle River. If I use you recipe on this blog you will receive a FREE fish fry to a local restaurant.
