Today is not only Tuesday but it is “Fat Tuesday” which most of us know has to do with the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. Around the radio station it also means “poochkies” (I’m sure the spelling is WAY off on this) and once again this year someone from Pick ‘N Save was here bright and early to drop off a variety of flavors for all who work here. Now, I am not partaking in the “eating of the poochkies” but I will be spending a portion of my “Fat Tuesday” by making a stock-up stop at the grocery store after work and maybe will bring home some of the sweet treats for my own family.
I will also be very interested on this festive day to see how many people are at the gym this afternoon …. either there will be more than usual trying to overcome and completely negate the “Fat Tuesday” title or less than usual so that they can celebrate and fulfill the title of “Fat Tuesday” – I will have to let you know when I find out!
Speaking of the gym, yes, I have been a regular member and have managed to get there for no less than 1 hour each day at least 4 days each week. I must admit Dick is doing better than me since he has made it 5 days a week since we started but I figure if my record attending workouts is better than my record of checking in on my blog page then I would have to consider that a success! I have not bothered to weigh myself yet but I have been able to extend my time on the elliptical machine as well as increase the weight on any muscle training machines I have been using so I will also take that as a good sign!
Other than that, we are having a good time here at the station getting to know our new News and Sports Director, Bruce Marcus and we invite you to stop by and do the same. Also this weekend we are giving away the 2012 Ski-Doo MXZ 600 Ace 4-stroke from Trackside in Eagle River to one lucky winner who bought one (or more) of the Take Pride and Ride raffle tickets to benefit our area snowmobile clubs so as of Saturday someone is going to be a very happy camper!
