Today we dine on a wonderful fish fry from Candy Kirkpatrick of St. Germain via Chicago. Candy said she learned this from her grandparents at there cabin in Lake Tomahawk. Today we dine on Kirkpatrick Up Nort' Fish.
The Parts: 4 walleye fillets
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/3 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Makin' It: In a medium bowl, combine milk and lemon juice.
Add fish and marinate 5 minutes.
Heat oil in large heavy skillet over medium heat.
In a shallow bowl, mix together cornmeal and flour. Season with paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, thyme and cayenne pepper.
Dredge fish in cornmeal mixture.
Fry fish in 350 degree oil until golden brown.
