Wolf's Blog

If you don't know how it got here? It was the wind that blew it in.

Today we dine on a fish recipe from Kelly W. from Manitowish Waters. Kelly would like us to enjoy her favorite flavor of fall...Fish Chilli

The Parts:
2 lbs of cubed fish
6 Red Chillies
2 cups Chopped Onion
1/2 cup Chopped Garlic
1 tsp Grated Ginger
1 tsp Chili powder
1/2 cup Finely chopped Tomato
1/4 cup Tomato Ketchup
1 cup of Fish Broth or water if you don't have fish broth
1 tsp Vinegar
1/2 tsp Corn flour
1/2 cup diced Capsicum
1/2 cup Chopped Celery
Salt to taste
Peanut Oil

For Marinate:
3 tsp Soya Sauce
2 tsp Chilli Powder
Salt to taste

Makin' It:
Apply the marinate on the fish pieces and allow it to stand for 2 hrs preferably in a refrigerator. Then deep fry it in Peanut oil.

Heat little oil in another pan and fry the red chillies till brown. Remove them from pan, and pound them to a coarse powder. Keep it aside.

In the remaining oil, add onion, ginger and garlic and saute them until onion turn translucent.

Add chilly powder, chopped tomato and ketchup and saute them till oil starts to separate.

Mix fish broth, vinegar, corn flour, and salt together.

Allow it to boil for a while, and when the gravy starts to thicken throw in capsicum and celery.

Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the reserved red chilly powder, and mix all together well.

This is a little work to get this together but Kelly promises a great payoff.
