Hey, we have snow! 3-4 inches have fallen in the Northwoods, with more on the way. Get those sleds ready.
Welcome by the way to FISH FRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRIDAY!
This weeks recipe is the family favorite of the Wrights. Paul and Betsy said it's just one of those recipes that the family uses on all their catches.
Today we dine on The Wright Fish.
The Parts: 1lb fresh fish fillets
1 ½ cups buttery crackers (crushed)
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 ¼ teaspoon old bay seasoning (divided)
½ cup milk
salt and pepper (to taste)
Makin' It: Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees. In a shallow dish combine crackers, garlic salt, and 1 teaspoon of old bay seasoning.
In another bowl mix egg, water, ¼ teaspoon old bay seasoning and salt and pepper to taste.
First coat each fish fillet in the egg mixture, and then put the fillet into the cracker mixture and coat well pressing down so the crackers stick. Repeat until all the fillets are coated.
Deep fry in batches at 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Thanks Wrights; it sounds great. Your fish is in the mail.
Now don't forget, if you have a recipe that everyone should try get it to me. All recipes can be sent by e-mails, letter, or dropped off her at the studios in Eagle River. If I use you recipe on this blog you will receive a FREE fish fry to a local restaurant.
