Well the cold weather can exit any time now. Winter is winter, but when 8 above zero seems like 30 you know you've been in the deep freeze for a while.
Let's heat things up on this FISH FRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRIDAY with a great fish fry recipe from Karen Beemer of Conover. Karen said it's a recipe that she learned from here grandma. It's easy but the whole family loves it. Today we dine on Beemer Fish.
The Parts: 2 Walleye fillets
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Makin' It: Rinse fish in cold water and pat dry.
Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper.
Place the flour in a shallow dish; gently press each fillet into the flour to coat and shake off the excess flour.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook the fish in the oil until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 4 minutes per side.
Brush the melted butter onto the fish in the last minute before removing from the skillet.
Very nice Karen. I love these recipes. They are about tasting the fish. By the way yours is on the way.
