Good day and Happy FISH FRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRIDAY!
Today we have a wonderful recipe from Chuck Hinsley of Presq Isle. Chuck said that he only ice fishes and when he catches his fish this is the only way to cook em'.
So today we dine on Chuck's Fish.
The Parts: 4 Walleye fillets
1 quart Crisco)
1 1/2 cups seasoned flour (I use Kentucky Kernel brand)
Makin' It: Heat Crisco in pan to 350-degrees.
Roll the walleye in the flour, shake off excess, and let the filets sit on a rack or, on wax paper, for 5-10 minutes.
Roll the fillets in the flour a second time, shake off excess flour, and deep fry, no more than 2 at a time.
Turn once in the pan after a minute or so and remove when golden brown.
They should be done in under 4 minutes, white and flakey inside at the thickest section of the filet.
Drain each filet on paper towels for a few seconds and serve.
Chuck this is so easy and sounds like a winner. Your fish is on the way.
